Sarah Hrstková comes from a mixed background: raised in the Czech Republic, with the influence of a Russian grandmother running through her upbringing, and holds a BA and is completing an MA in Stage Design at Universität der Künste Berlin, where she has since made her home. Home, for her, remains something she's still building, inside as much as outside. That search runs through everything she makes: spaces, clothes, sentences.

Trained first as a painter, she now works as a stage designer across theater, film, commercial productions, galleries, music stages, and festival visuals. A love for the body, how it moves, how it's dressed, how it holds itself in a room, runs through her work in fashion and performance alike.

Her work returns to vulnerability and the uncanny, the same questions, really, that shape a person looking for where they belong.
